Patterson Lakes Primary School recognises that Digital Technologies provides a unique opportunity to enhance student learning using online, collaborative and a wide range of digital technologies, which is made available via computers. ICT is an integral part of a child’s education. It is a domain that is mandated to be reported on in accordance with the Victorian Essential Learning Standards from level F-10 as set by Department of Education. By using computers, associated digital technologies including robotics and software packages students and teachers can interact and operate effectively in a modern technological global society.
Central to this program is the Multi Media Centre.
It contains a more traditional 30 PC lab and an Interactive Technologies & Communications Hub. The later is new and was officially opened on November 17, 2011. All classrooms in the school have small pods of computers and an interactive whiteboard.
The ICT Hub houses a number of different teaching and learning spaces and employs a range of different technologies. These technologies are woven into instruction by a specialist teacher to make engaging and realistic products and experiences for our students.
