Home and Remote Learning 2020

Online Classes
We are currently operating with Learning from home from our secure online learning platform via Google Classroom. This includes your child's specialist lessons.  Home learning packs can still be used for additional or offline learning .

All activities and interactons will be accessed using each child's unique user name and password form their own classroom page. Please refer to the help pages above for any assistance. Learning at home is a partnership and not meant to be a buden on parent's time. We welcome your involvement in your child's development and the guidance and support you can provide. This is a new learning journey for all of us.

Children will be given lesson instruction, tasks they can work on independently, ongoing projects that can be done with and without the need for a computer, web site activities and class meetings conducted by the teacher. We are mindful that learning at home is different for each family and this approach is designed to accommodate this.

The staff at PLPS are working very hard in preparing to maintain ongoing learning with your child throughout this Covid-19 isolation period.

Home Learning Pack # 1

Dear Students, Parents and Carers,

The links below are to our recent 'Home Learning Pack' that was sent home at the end of term 2. They are based on programs operating at Patterson Lakes Primary School. The links are to a folder of activities and learning grids but unfortunealtely do not contain any photocopied materials that were sent home with the original packs. The Additional Learning Materials' are suggested home learning ativities only as an adjunct to supplement any home schooling you may want to do to help your children.

Additional activities may be posted via Compass or be added here should there be a need. Visit the many online learning activities contained on the school web site under the PROGRAMS tab. Hover over Student Resources and explore the learning areas that pop out.

Students have access to Mathlectics and DET is developing an additional online learning program Learning from Home, which will be available in the event of a government school closure.

Please take the opportunity to rediscover mathematics and reading in home situations, such as cooking, recipe writing and list writing.

Passion projects are also another fabulous way of researching an area or idea you would like to know more about and sharing with friends back at school.

From,

The staff at Patterson Lakes Primary School.
